The late, great Muhammad Ali was always in the public eye, even when chatting on the phone at home.
In previously unseen shots, the heavyweight boxing champ, who died earlier this month aged 74, is also seen playing with his kids and out for a drive.
The images were pulled from the archives of Esquire magazine for a commemorative feature in the August edition, out next week, that offers an intimate portrait of the legend.
Ali died aged 74 earlier this month after battling Parkinson’s for more than 30 years.
The boxer's home town of Louisville said goodbye to its most famous son with an overpowering show of love and pride.
Tens of thousands took to the sweltering streets, cheering, applauding, fist-pumping, throwing flowers at Muhammad Ali’s hearse when his funeral took place.
People could be seen kissing it and running alongside it while chanting “Ali, Ali, Ali.”
The 18-strong motorcade travelled along a 23-mile route past special landmarks in Ali’s life.
It had to wind down to a crawl – giving people the chance to shake hands through open windows with family members and stars like Will Smith , who played Ali in the 2001 movie.
The most poignant part of the route was 3302 Grand Avenue, Ali’s small, pink wooden childhood home.
Jerry Hines, 76, said: “He showed all of us black people, who back then were living segregated lives, that you didn’t have to take this inhumanity. He was our beacon of light and hope.”
Before the funeral, Ali's daughter revealed her last photo of her "beautiful father" following his tragic death.
Hana Ali shared a snapshot of one of her final conversations with her dad.
In an image posted on Twitter, the legendary athlete can be seen on Facetime to his daughter, seemingly with a twinkle in his eye as she told him she loves him.
She captioned the photo: "My last photo of my beautiful father...telling him I love him on May 22, 2016"
Tragically Ali passed away around two weeks later - and both fans and celebrities have been in mourning.
Meanwhile, Haha has also shared a photo of her dad with late pop icon Prince , who can be seen attempting to recreate one of the boxer's magic tricks.
She wrote: "Prince doing his version of Daddys levitating magic trick act!" Victoria's Secret model Gigi Hadid was inspired by the champion
