“We Tried, But It Wasn’t Enough”: Shayne Jansen Confirms Breakup with Julie Theis After Their Reality TV Love Story

Shayne Jansen and Julie Theis are going their separate ways.

On Saturday, May 24, the Love Is Blind alum, 36, announced that he and The Trust: A Game of Greed star, 28, have broken up after less than a year of dating in a post shared to his Instagram Stories.

"Julie and I have decided to go our separate ways," Jansen wrote over a black screen. "I hate that I even have to make this post but that's the reality of the world I live in."

"I won't be speaking on this any further. I've learned that sharing details about personal matters rarely helps anyone," he concluded, adding a red heart emoji.

In October 2024, Jansen and Theis made their relationship Instagram official by sharing several loved-up photos on the social media platform.

Among the photos were shots of the pair posing for a selfie and smiling sweetly for the camera. A second photo showed Theis wrapping her arms lovingly around Jansen while wearing a blue mini dress and heels, posing with one leg in the air.

"Love is her ❤️," Jansen captioned the post, to which Theis replied in the comments section, "My best friend ❤️."

Jansen was previously engaged to his Love Is Blind costar Natalie Mina Lee after starring on the second season of the hit Netflix dating show.

After finally getting to meet in person, the pair had a massive argument before their wedding and Lee then refused to say "I do" at the altar, even though Jansen had already said the same words.

Meanwhile, Theis dated fellow The Trust star Jake Chocholous but told the Daily Mail in January that the pair had called it quits.

"We were on good terms leaving the show," she told the outlet, adding, "We had this whole experience and when you come back, you can't tell anyone that you're on the show, so I was thankful for Jake in that regard."

"But as far as pursuing something romantic, Jake and I have such severely different beliefs — and I want people to know that," she added.
