West Wilson Confronts Ciara Miller About “Moving Forward” After Split: “I F--ked This Up”

Now that the awkward first-greeting-of-the-summer is behind Ciara Miller and West Wilson, they can work on repairing their friendship. Well, at least West hopes so.

Ciara Miller talks to West Wilson at the dinner table on Summer House Season 9 Episode 2

During Season 9, Episode 2 of Summer House, the former couple had a confrontation about their messy split at dinner in front of the rest of the cast members. When Ciara called West a "loser" and "beta," he shut down ... only to reopen the line of communication the next morning in the hopes of "moving forward." And even though he was "scared," he went through with the conversation.

While Ciara was doing her makeup before heading back to the city, he entered her room. "Is this summer going to be f--king awful?" he asked with a sigh.

"I don't think it's f--king awful," she responded. "Like, I'm moving forward."

West argued, "Last night, I don't think, like, you were moved forward at all."

Ciara then explained that she feels like when she does confront him, she receives minimal response.

After West noted he and Ciara hadn't "talked since December/January," he added, "I thought we kind of had closure and it ended, but the whole [Season 8] reunion was f--king, I sounded like an idiot. I'm trying to figure this out day by day, and I'm not the best at it."

Ciara's take? West was talking to the press about the situation when they could've just left their breakup in the past, between them.

After hearing Ciara's reasons for being upset, West admitted he would have avoided doing interviews about their breakup if he knew then how upset it would make Ciara. (As Ciara explained, she was particularly bothered about West's New York Times interview following the reunion, in which he claimed he didn't see a future between them.)

"If I would've known that that's what would've made this more peaceful, then I f--king would have. I feel like I've felt in defense for so long, that any time someone's like ... " West began before Ciara jumped in to note that was exactly her point. He cared what other people were saying.

"That's why this is hard," he said. "This isn't perfect. I f--ked this up. I'm trying to figure this out, and apologizing for saying things that have hurt your feelings. I'm not every trying to f--king hurt you. It's not my intention. If you know me at all, I think you know that that's not what I'm trying to do. I'm not malicious. I'm not trying to hurt you. Yeah, I'm sorry."

Eventually, Ciara shared that she heard him and they agreed they could be around each other cordially. "Thank you for apologizing," she said.

A split of Ciara Miller and West Wilson.

In a confessional, West explained that he planned to chat with Ciara not because he wanted to tell anyone how to feel or react, but because he knows he's "not some f--king evil dude who tried to ruin [her] life."

He also wanted to explain his reasoning for reflecting on their split with The New York Times.

"After the reunion and all the f--king backlash, I was alone for all of that. I was f--king freaked out and in panic mode," he said. "Someone asked me if I wanted to defend myself, and I said yes. I thought it was relatively gentle of an article, but she read it and I guess it didn't land the same."

After they got home from a night out, Ciara opened up to Paige DeSorbo about how even though they'd just fought, she'd consider making out with West.

"You could literally only say this to me, but I so f--king get it," Paige responded.

In a confessional, Ciara shared the hard place she was in.

"Do you think I don't want to hug you and say, like, it's going to be fine and be as friendly as we were last summer? Because my gut reaction is to be that way towards him," she said. "But at this point, I can't figure out if West cares and genuinely feels bad, or if he's just concerned with how he's going to look again."

Why did West Wilson and Ciara Miller break up?

At the Season 8 reunion, Ciara and West confirmed they broke up in December 2023. As they hashed out what went wrong, Ciara stated to West, "[You told me] that you can't commit because, basically, for show related reasons."

In a June 2024 interview with Vulture, West explained, "Our breakup felt more mutual in real time than it turned out to be on reunion day...Ciara’s reaction was a lot different than I had interpreted."

"When we stopped talking, it felt like a mature conversation," he continued. "We agreed on a lot of things, and it was emotional but it didn’t feel like she had that much animosity toward me. You never want to see someone who you care about get their feelings hurt, but that’s not how I thought it played out in real life at all."
