Southern Charm fans have pondered so many questions since the show aired on Bravo in 2014. With 9 seasons under its belt and Season 10 officially announced, viewers have wanted to learn more about the worth of Patricia Altschul's stunning Charleston, South Carolina estate, the cast's net worth, and if Whitney's relationship with his mom really is that solid.
Fans have also wondered about the cast members who have exited the show. Most notably, Cameran Eubanks, who was an OG castmate in Season 1. Cameran was a terrific addition to the show as she always kept it real and stayed out of most of the drama. So, it was a shock when she did not return to Season 7 and was not going to ever make a return. What has she said about leaving the series, and what has she been up to since leaving the hit show?
Cameran Eubanks Left Southern Charm To Live A More Private Life
Cameran Eubanks, a real estate agent in Charleston, South Carolina, starred in the very first season of Southern Charm. Unlike most of her cast mates, Cameran wanted to keep her marriage to husband Jason Wimberly away from the cameras. In fact, fans did not get to see Jason until the end of Season 6. However, Cameran did allow cameras to follow her during her pregnancy. She and Jason welcomed a daughter named Palmer in 2017.
In 2020, Cameran announced that she was not going to return to Season 7. At the time, her Southern Charm cast mate, Kathryn Dennis, reportedly spread the rumor that Jason was having an affair. According to People, the woman who was accused of these allegations was Rebecca Wash, a Charleston makeup artist, who vehemently denied the affair in an Instagram Story, even stating that she had never met Jason. Cameran even reposted her story, calling Rebecca the victim of vicious lies.
"The allegations that this rumor was started by Kathryn Dennis are even more hurtful. I met Kathryn one time in 2018 when I did her makeup for a photoshoot for a local clothing store. I have not seen or spoken to Kathryn since. I have only known her in my limited interaction in a professional capacity, and to suggest that I am somehow associated with these allegations is dumbfounding, hurtful, and malicious."
Fans of Cameran's were left wondering if the rumor was the reason why she left Southern Charm. As Cameran had kept cameras out of her married life with Jason, it wasn't surprising that she decided to leave the show. In fact, she had stated on the Reality Life With Kate Casey podcast that producers wanted her to make a guest appearance on Season 7 to discuss the rumor and create a storyline for the show.
However, the real reason Cameran left Southern Charm is that she wanted to focus on her marriage, her daughter, and she believed her time on the show was up.
As Us Weekly reported, in her memoir, One Day You'll Thank Me, Cameran shared why she left.
"I had a child and since becoming a mother, my priorities had changed. I also felt like I was at a different place in my life and I just didn't fit on the show anymore." She added, "The drama on reality TV lately has taken a dark turn and becoming something I don't want to associate myself with anymore. False accusations can be made and nasty rumors can be started for the sake of a 'good show.'It just started to feel a bit icky."
Cameran Will Never Return To Southern Charm
Cameran Eubanks has no regrets about her time on Southern Charm. In fact, she's used to being on reality TV after having starred in The Real World: San Diego in 2004. She told Us Weekly that she would "do it again in a heartbeat," but that part of her life is over.
"I would go back and do it all over again. I closed that door and there's really no need for me to go back. I don't think it would necessarily serve a purpose. But the show's doing great."
After leaving the Bravo show, Cameran kept busy raising her daughter, Palmer, who she regularly posts on Instagram. She also celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with Jason. In an Instagram post that featured a photo of the couple having dinner and her wedding photo, she wrote, "10 years ago I made the best decision of my life!"
In 2021, Cameran released her memoir, One Day You'll Thank Me: Essays on Dating, Motherhood, and Everything In Between and went on a book tour. She has also partnered up with children's clothing label Cecil and Lou for her own collection of clothing.
Cameran has also kept in close touch with former Southern Charm star Chelsea Meissner. On Instagram, Cameran shared a photo with a pregnant Chelsea, who gave birth to her first child in September 2023.
