Stephen McGee appeared on Summer House for the first two seasons but has since moved on from his life on one of the best reality TV shows. During his time on the Bravo series, Stephen was pretty new to the group of friends. He became very close to twins Lauren and Ashley Wirkus and Carl Radke. While he remained close with Lauren and Ashley until the end of his final season, he and Carl were not ready to mend their broken friendship. Stephen isn't in Summer House season 8, but the show is still going strong.
During his first season, Stephen became a favorite among Bravo fans. They loved his carefree attitude towards some of his Summer House castmates and funny throwaway comments. However, it was easy to turn on him after he spilled a secret that Carl told him in confidence while they were off-camera. Carl was understandably upset by the revelation and didn't understand why Stephen had to make his story public. Then, the Alabama native left his reality TV gig behind. What is Stephen up to after being part of the Summer House cast?

Stephen's Life Post-Summer House
Stephen Changed His Life For The Better
Stephen is reportedly still close to Lauren and Ashley. He has visited them in Palm Springs in the past since Ashley currently lives in San Diego. Stephen is also very close with former Vanderpump Rules cast members Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, who were also part of the Bravo network. He even attended the couple's wedding in 2019 in Kentucky. The former reality star is also working on becoming a better person.
In September 2020, Stephen announced on Facebook that he was one year sober. "Today, I am 1 year sober. I woke up to watch the sunrise in Montauk after the most challenging year of my life [...] I am forever grateful to those of you who encouraged me and lifted me up to help me get to this beautiful place," he wrote in an Instagram caption. Stephen did share an Instagram post in February of himself holding an alcoholic beverage, it's unclear if Stephen is still sober. If Stephen is happy and healthy, that's all that matters.
What Is Stephen Up To In 2024?
Stephen's Open To A Reality TV Return
Since Stephen isn't a huge Instagram user, it seems he has been up to too much in 2024. His most recent photo was from May 1, giving his followers an update on what he's been up to as of late. The post shows the former Summer House star walking along a beach, sipping on some green juice, putting in an almost $300 order at McDonald's, and so much more. A few months before that, Stephen opened up about how so much has happened already in 2024 and it was only the end of February.
Stephen revealed he got his first tattoo on his hand, which says, "Love You." The carousel of photos also includes two cameos from fellow reality stars. Stephen shared one image of himself and Tom Schwartz from Vanderpump Rules and another image of Kristen Doute from The Valley, also a Vanderpump Rules alum.
Stephen Is open to returning to reality TV.
It seems Stephen is really tight with the LA-based reality stars. The cameos from Tom and Kristen got fans thinking about Stephen and his reality TV career. One person even said, "Summer house, the valley, winter house. Idc but we need Steven backkkk!" implying he may return to TV. Stephen replied by saying, "hehe you never know." The return of Stephen to reality TV could be in the cards.
Since saying goodbye to Summer House in 2018, Stephen has been working to improve his career and personal life, while staying in touch with Bravo stars and alumni. He's a success in his own right and will only continue to be his best. As for whether TV watchers will ever see Stephen on their screens again, they shouldn't count it out.
