Do the Real Housewives of New Jersey producers have a problem with Melissa Gorga? Or is it the other way around? In any reality production, one imagines a certain amount of give and take between producers and stars.
But RHONJ seems like a particularly precarious production. The ongoing feud between Teresa Giudice’s family and the Gorgas would theoretically make filming difficult for several reasons.
In fact, late last year, rumors suggested that producers were frustrated with Tre. Her refusal to film with her estranged family allegedly made it difficult to find any on-screen drama. As for Melissa, well, her problems with production look a little different.
Why Melissa told producers she didn’t “give a sh*t”
Recently, Bravo released an interview between Melissa and a Real Housewives of New Jersey producer, Serife. During their chat, Melissa asked if there was “ever a moment that I like, gave you an attitude?” Serife responded, “You know how you want something to look. You might want to like, change up the space that we’re using.”
The producer continued, “So, you might push back on that a little bit.” Some unaired footage then played where Melissa asked the cameras to get her “best angles.” When production informed her they were trying to work around the house’s mirrors, she said, “I don’t give a sh*t about that.”
Back in the interview, Melissa responded, “I feel like that’s my biggest pushback a lot of the times. Like, they’ll turn off lights, and I’m like, ‘No, I like that chandelier, I really want it on.’ And they’re like, ‘You’re not gonna look good with that light over your head.’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t care. I want my chandelier.’”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
