Dancing With The Stars is a major commitment for contestants. Most of the professional dancers moved to Los Angeles full-time for the show. But that’s not really a feasible move for the contestants.
So where does everyone live while DWTS films?
DWTS Contestants Live In Luxury While On The Show
Since Dancing With The Stars contestants come from around the world, it only makes sense that the production company would put them in the same place. The show provides a pretty comfortable set-up for them with easy access to the studio.
Where is it?
The Sun recently published images of the apartment complex in the Hollywood Hills where DWTS contestants temporarily reside.
“The apartment building boasts a rooftop pool with sweeping views of the city and Hollywood Hills along with a lavish fitness center, movie theatre, full-time concierge and five-star dining options,” The Sun reports.
The publication reveals the location is called the AKA West Hollywood, which offers flexible stay options, according to its website. This would be the perfect set-up for DWTS contestants who have no idea how long they’ll be on the show. It’s also about 10 minutes away from the rehearsal studio, giving contestants easy access to the ballroom.
Of course, a stay at the AKA West Hollywood isn’t cheap. The Sun also shares that DWTS provides contestants with a stipend, including rent for a $5.8k to $6.9k single-bedroom unit at the complex.
Overall, it seems that the contestants enjoy their time in the complex. Season 33 competitor Ilona Maher frequently films social media films there, as does dancer Rylee Arnold.
The Pro Dancers Are Spread Out Across The Country
The AKA West Hollywood also comes in handy for the professional dancers who don’t want to live in Los Angeles full-time. Witney Carson and her family moved to Florida within the past year. And several dancers, including Brandon Armstrong and Rylee Arnold, have roots in Utah. An apartment with a short-term lease is perfect for them.
However, Los Angeles is home to several of the pros, including the Chmerkovskiys and the Pashkovs.
But at the end of the day, the pro dancers on DWTS travel so often, that they could feasibly put down roots anywhere. Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy in particular love traveling the world and bringing their toddler with them.
