Minnesota Wild netminder Marc-Andre Fleury added one more milestone to his Hall of Fame résumé on Wednesday night.

Wild Announce Historic Marc Andre-Fleury News After OT Win

Fleury set the NHL record for most overtime wins by a goaltender in what may have been the final home start of his career.

Fleury earned his 70th overtime victory in the Minnesota Wild’s wild 8–7 win over the San Jose Sharks, surpassing the previous all-time mark.

While Fleury allowed seven goals on 31 shots, he made just enough stops to preserve the win after Kirill Kaprizov’s overtime goal sealed it at Xcel Energy Center in the forward's first game back from injury

“Oh man, jeez. Ups and downs in the game,” Fleury said. “As a goalie, those aren’t the most fun games to play. But what matters—two points at the end, right? We'll take them, that's for sure.”

The 40-year-old now owns a 13-9-1 record this season and holds a 2.78 GAA and .897 save percentage.

With 574 wins in 1,049 career appearances, Fleury trails only Martin Brodeur in all-time wins and games played.

Wednesday's matchup was as emotional as it was chaotic, as Wild's Joel Eriksson Ek scored four goals, and Kaprizov added two, including the overtime winner.

Meanwhile, Sharks rookie Macklin Celebrini posted a five-point night, including a hat trick—his first ever—and two assists for San Jose.

Fleury will finish the 2024-25 season, his last one in the NHL, with more wins than losses, marking the 19th winning season of his career to surpass Patrick Roy (18) for the second-most in NHL history, trailing only Brodeur (20) atop the list.
