Minnesota Wild forward Marco Rossi is known for his work ethic. He has already had a big offseason by training with Hall of Fame center Joe Thornton.
In an article by Laola, Rossi said he is up already 14 pounds this offseason. That puts him at 196 pounds at 5-foot-9. The knock on him is he is too small and the persona around him is he is easy to shove off the puck because he's "so small."
So, what does Rossi do? Adds 14 pounds and is almost 200 pounds.
The story is an Austrian Interview with Rossi and it talks about what happened in the playoffs and what the future looks like for Rossi and the Wild.
Minnesota is currently in a stalemate with Rossi and no negotiations have been taking place between the two sides.
"They also have the rights to me. We hope we can reach an agreement - at the moment it's back and forth," Rossi said to Laola about a possible contract. "Hopefully that will settle down in the next few weeks."
Rossi, 23, is coming off a season in which he recorded 24 goals, 36 assists and 60 points in all 82 games. He was banged up at times but still completed his second straight 82-game season. He is the only guy on the Wild to have played back-to-back full seasons.
Time will tell whether or not the Wild and Rossi reach a contract agreement but the Wild still own the rights to Rossi. Nonetheless, it is nice to see the offseason that Rossi is having.
