Many viewers were excited to see a potential new bond between Nneka and fellow Nigerian cast member Wendy Osefo. Unfortunately, the opposite occurred.
In the NFL, there's one day referred to as "Black Monday" when coaches are fired and replaced within 24 hours. Bravo recently experienced a Real Housewives "Black Spring," as several changes in various casts have occurred. Some left on their own, while even more weren't given new contracts for the next season. A franchise that has seen a lot of changes in one month is The Real Housewives of Potomac, as OG cast member Robyn Dixon shared that she was fired from the series.
Several newbies in other franchises of The Real Housewives have left after their first season. The biggest upset came from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, thanks to the firing of Monica Garcia, who made the season an incredible one to watch but was fired after the rest of the cast refused to film with her. Other less popular newbies, like Annemarie Wiley, left for their own personal reasons. Nneka Ihim, who joined the RHOP cast, is the latest to leave. So why did Nneka leave RHOP?
Nneka joined the series in Season 8 and immediately decided to hop into the mess that carried over from Season 7. Many viewers were excited to see a potential new bond between Nneka and fellow Nigerian cast member Wendy Osefo. Unfortunately, the opposite occurred and gave birth to an incredibly nonsensical plotline that a strong majority of the viewers didn't enjoy watching. The fight was equal parts petty and confusing when religion was thrown into the mix in an unnecessary way.
Nneka's compelling personal story is also the reason why she's leaving the show.
Outside of the drama with the other women, Nneka and her husband, Ikenna Ihim, were in the midst of their very own personal journey. They were working to start their own family by doing several fertility treatments. Throughout the season, viewers saw her struggle to conceive. She shared during a recent interview with People that she left the show to focus on growing her family with Ikenna.
Nneka joins Candiace Dillard Bassett and Robyn Dixon in leaving 'RHOP.'
Nneka isn't the only one in the RHOP cast who is leaving to focus on family. Candiace Dillard Bassett was the first to announce that she'd be leaving the franchise. Within days, Candiace announced that she and her husband Chris were expecting their first child. Robyn shared later that she was fired from the series, likely because she lied about and denied that her husband had some extramarital activities, leaving many fans annoyed by her hypocritical behavior throughout the season.
Who are the new 'RHOP' cast members?
With Candiace, Nneka, and Robyn's exits, there were several spots to fill. First, Keiarna Stewart was promoted to full-time housewife, which is a smart move given the impact she had on Season 8. Keiarna is also joined by newbies Stacey Rusch and Jassi Rideaux. Filming has reportedly already begun for Season 9.
