Drama on Bachelor in Paradise season 10 has continued to unfold, both onscreen and offscreen — this time centering around Bailey Brown and Jeremy Simon’s relationship.
During the Monday, August 11, episode, Brian Autz inserted himself into the drama when he revealed to Bailey, 28, that Jeremy, 31, wanted to continue a relationship with Susie Evans instead of her. (Susie went home earlier in the season after denying a rose from ex Justin Glaze. After Susie’s exit, Jeremy called her and asked her to come back — but she refused.)
When Brian, 34, asked to pull Bailey aside as part of a “secret rendezvous,” she initially thought he was going to admit his feelings for her — despite being in a relationship with Parisa Shifteh. Bailey, however, was ultimately blindsided when Brian told her about Jeremy’s interest in Susie. She later learned that several contestants allegedly knew about Jeremy’s interest, but didn’t tell her.
As the episode aired, Andrew Spencer defended the contestants’ decision not to tell Bailey about Jeremy’s desire to be in a relationship with Susie and his infamous phone call.
“Also funny that yall are tripping about us not telling Bailey about a phone call that we have no context to but OK [with] the fact she didnt tell Parisa that Brian was the one who asked her to go on secret rendezvous when she had no context to his intentions yet,” Andrew, 30, wrote via X on Monday.
Bailey, for her part, went on to address Andrew’s comment via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, August 12, sharing a screenshot of his post.
“Let me be clear, the reason I didn’t immediately tell Parisa was because I first needed to process what was going on and then speak to Jeremy,” Bailey explained in a statement. “I chose not to do a secret rendezvous because it was a secret. I was planning on having a conversation with Brian that night not in secret before he pulled me. I had every intention of telling Parisa if there was sneaky intent but between the note and telling Jeremy was about an hour of time.”
She continued, “I like to make clear headed decisions and I would not have held something like that from anyone on my cast. I’m allowed to process what’s going on in front of me. I’m glad I didn’t immediately tell her before speaking to Brian because it would’ve resulted into a bigger issue when Brian did not have ill intent with our conversation.”
Bailey admitted that this season of Bachelor in Paradise “has been a lot” for her both “emotionally and mentally.”
“No one is perfect and I believe in giving those I care about grace,” she concluded. “I wish those close to me wouldn’t continue to add to what’s going on but I did want to justify my actions in the moment and I believe I moved correctly.”
Despite wanting to go home after finding out about Jeremy’s interest in Susie, Bailey ultimately stayed and accepted a rose from him at the rose ceremony. Golden Bachelor franchise alums Kim Buike and Faith Martin were ultimately eliminated from the series on Monday.
