Carl Radke is proud of his smile and is speaking out about his choice to get dental work done like never before. The Summer House cast member has previously been candid about his need to fix his teeth (more on that down below), and now revealed what caused him to get some adjustments to his smile.
The Soft Bar founder spoke with Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea on Feb. 27, where he explained why he got dental work in the first place — and it's not because he was unhappy with his appearance on TV. "There's more about my teeth that I think people don't fully understand," he shared. "And it's something that, for me, since growing up, I've had dental problems. I was hit in the face two different times with a hockey stick and a baseball, both by my brother. I had chipped teeth. I've had chipped teeth the majority of my life."
"Dental stuff is hard," he added. "I mean, I didn't get my teeth fixed just because I'm on a reality TV show. The teeth I was born with had been chipped and had been damaged. And then the roots were resorbing, which means they're dying."
Carl Radke admits his teeth had been an insecurity for him
Carl noted that this became somewhat of an insecurity for him. "Anybody growing up that knew me, I was made fun of for my teeth being chipped and crooked. Just was what it was. I was made fun of for my ears," he explained.
He admitted that some people had even "made fun" of his teeth after he appeared on Summer House Season 1. "So at some point on Summer House back in Season 1, I actually was kind of made fun of for having yellow teeth at that time, because they were my natural teeth. But that's how they looked," he said.
Carl Radke admits he's had "adjustments" made to his smile over the years
The former dental salesman did reveal that he has gotten "some adjustments" made to his smile since Summer House started, but they've been under the guidance of his dentist. "So, over the years, I've had some adjustments and I've had to get some modifications made," he said. "So what you're looking at right now is literally what the dentist and surgeon have recommended."
Details on Carl Radke's dental work and teeth today
Carl had previously opened up about his dental work during a February 2022 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. During the show, host, Andy Cohen, was blinded by Carl's wide smile, and asked if they were his natural teeth.
"I actually had some work done...I got hit in the face with a baseball when I was fourteen and had a little bit of work done, but they're still my nuts and bolts there," he said at the time.
