Shedeur Sanders has the Colorado Buffaloes in Big 12 contention with potentially a spot in the College Football Playoff up for grabs. Yet, Sanders is also the talk of NFL teams as one of the top quarterback prospects.
Sanders has a chance to be the first quarterback selected in the 2025 NFL draft. The star quarterback has thrown for 2,591 yards, 21 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while completing 73.3% of his passes through the Buffs' first eight games.
There is one NFL team that cannot seem to shake being labeled a perfect fit for Sanders. Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling's latest mock draft has the Las Vegas Raiders selecting Sanders with the No. 8 pick.
"No team in the NFL is more desperate for an upgrade at quarterback than the Raiders, and though this isn't the best year to need one in the draft, there's still upside worth taking a swing on," Easterling wrote on Oct. 22.
"Sanders needs to be more consistent with his accuracy and decision-making, but he's got all the physical and mental tools to quickly develop into a franchise passer with the right supporting cast around him."
There's been plenty of buzz about Sanders being the next face of the Raiders franchise. Gardner Minshew signed a two-year, $25 million contract with Las Vegas during the 2024 offseason. The Raiders have an out in Minshew's deal in 2025, but the franchise would take a $10.8 million dead cap hit by releasing the veteran, per Spotrac.
