Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, are heading into 2025 with grateful hearts. The couple shared a joint post on December 31, officially saying goodbye to 2024.
“So many mixed emotions and feelings about this entire year,” Erbert captioned the Instagram post.
“I have never experienced more struggle and heartbreak in my life while simultaneously feeling so much growth, love, and purpose. This year was far from easy, but it was so necessary. Grateful for every moment; the hard ones, the beautiful ones, and everything in between. Here’s to carrying these lessons into the next chapter,” she added.
The Instagram video included photos and videos from the past year, in which Hough and Erbert were tested on many levels. They kicked off 2024 fresh off Erbert’s life-altering skull surgery and finished with the end of their holiday dance tour.

Derek Hough & Hayley Erbert Ended 2025 on a High Note
Hough and Erbert got back to doing what they love most — dancing — as soon as Erbert was given the green light by her doctors. The two embarked on a multi-city holiday tour that ended after Christmas. They performed 110 shows together.
“Wow! Tonight is our final show of the year: 110 shows?! Wouldn’t be possible without you all. Thank you for all the love and support,” Erbert posted on her Instagram Stories on December 29.
“So proud and inspired by our amazing cast of dancers. Hayley and I couldn’t be more thankful for all the hard work, dedication, spirit, and attention to excellence,” Hough captioned a post on his own Instagram Stories the next day.
“The chemistry on and off the floor means so much. It’s invaluable to find dancers who not only work hard but truly care about what they do. We see it, and we love you all. Thank you so much for this incredible journey,” he added.
