“Dancing With the Stars” pro Rylee Arnold will not be able to return to the live tour after suffering an ankle injury during the show in Salt Lake City last month.
“I just wanted to give you an injury/angle update,” Arnold said in a video posted to her Instagram feed on April 8. “So, sadly my doctor did not okay me to get back to dancing right now and I will not be returning for the extension of the tour, which is just so sad.”
“I’m going to be resting and healing at this time to make sure that my ankle properly gets healed and returns back to the way it was. I am so sad that I won’t be joining back with the tour, but it’s such a fun show and I know all of you guys who are going are going to have so much fun. It’s a show that I am just so proud of, so inspired by,” Arnold continued.
She wrapped up her video by thanking fans for their love and continued support.
Rylee Arnold Received Support From Family & Fans Alike
Shortly after Arnold’s injury update, she received a great deal of love and support from friends and fans, and a few familiar names popped up in the comments section of her post.
“Love you so much!!!” wrote Arnold’s older sister, Lindsay Arnold, who used to be a pro on “Dancing With the Stars.”
“You got this Ry!!!” read a message from Brandon Armstrong’s wife, Brylee.
“We love you,” the person who runs the official DWTS Live Tour Instagram page commented.
“Sending tons of love, Ry ! You’re doing the right thing. Prayers for quick and full recovery,” a fourth comment read.
Rylee Arnold Previously Revealed She Suffered an Ankle Sprain
After landing funny on her ankle during one of her dance numbers, Arnold was hoping that her ankle wasn’t broken — and that she didn’t need surgery. After getting checked out by a doctor, she took to social media with a positive update.
“I just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I’m sure you’ve heard or probably saw… last night at the Salt Lake City show, I injured/sprained my ankle in one of my dances and was not able to continue dancing,” she said in a video posted to Instagram on March 28.
“But good news! It is not broken. It is sprained, but I just need to take this time to heal and make sure I can return back to the show,” she added.
At that time, Arnold thought she’d only be missing a handful of shows. However, her ankle hasn’t healed enough for her to get back on the road.
Hopefully she will make a full recovery and will be able to compete on season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars” when the show returns in the fall.
