"Dancing with the Stars” has announced four competitors ahead of Season 34, which means there are still plenty of spots to be filled. Could Nick Kosir, also known as “The Dancing Weatherman,” be one of them?
Julianne Hough & Nick Kosir Impress With Their Unexpected Collaboration
Kosir’s energy and charisma make him incredibly popular among his fans. The meteorologist is also a skilled dancer and has shared many of his short routines on social media. However, a recent collaboration with DWTS professional dancer and current co-host Julianne Hough has led fans to wonder if he will be competing for the Mirrorball Trophy in the upcoming season, which will premiere on September 16.
On July 18, Hough posted a short video clip on Instagram showing herself and Kosir dancing. She captioned the post with a simple message, writing, “Sunny with a chance of grrrrr dancingweatherman.” The routine shows off Kosir’s moves (and it’s impressive how he can keep up with Hough).
Fans have flooded the comment section of the post. “The collab we didn’t know we needed,” a comment reads. “Is he the next celeb for DWTS?!?” another person questioned.
Other reactions include, “Newest season 34 cast member?,” “Can we get Nick on DWTS?!” and “This will now live rent-free in my head. The collab we didn’t know we were missing.” As of now, no further announcements have been made regarding contestants joining DWTS Season 34, but Kosir’s inclusion is something that fans want to see.
Nick Kosir Reflects on His Dancing Skills
Kosir has an impressive fan following, with 2.6 million fans on Instagram alone. His energy and joy for dance could make him an excellent choice to compete for the Mirrorball Trophy. In an interview with Forbes in July 2025, the publication noted that Kosir has never had a dance lesson.
Fans and his colleagues love his natural moves, and he reflected on how it all started in 2019 when he was in the studio and started dancing.
“Everyone loved it,” he told Forbes. “I’d been trying stuff on social media for years and years, and I had some success but the dancing thing really seemed to take off. Once you catch lightening in a bottle, it’s hard to keep it there and I’ve been keeping it there for six years. I think the dancing and social media aspect of my brand helped me land this job at Fox Weather.” He also discussed his sobriety in his interview and how it had benefitted his dancing.
