Julianne Hough Spends Day With Ex-Husband Brooks Laich and His Pregnant Fiancée: Shocks Fans With Unlikely Reunion and Grace Under Pressure

Julianne Hough is showing that exes can still be close friends. The “Dancing With the Stars” cohost, 36, recently joined her former husband, Brooks Laich, and his pregnant fiancée, Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir, for a lakeside outing.

Lakeside Bonding

Hough posted an Instagram Story on July 11 featuring the trio on a boat, smiling as she pointed at Davíðsdóttir’s baby bump. The 32-year-old mom-to-be stood between the former spouses with her arms around both of them.

“Special day on the lake with these three cuties,” Hough captioned the photo, according to her Instagram Story.

Davíðsdóttir reshared the image and included a clip from Hough’s story showing her surfing, which Hough captioned, “Rippin’,” along with a pink heart emoji. Davíðsdóttir added that it was her “baby girl’s first surf.”

Supporting Ex’s New Chapter With Grace

Hough and Laich began dating in 2013 and tied the knot in July 2017. They announced their separation in May 2020 and finalized their divorce in June 2022.

Laich, 42, confirmed his relationship with Davíðsdóttir in August 2021, a year after his split from Hough. The couple became engaged in December 2024 and announced in May that they are expecting their first child together.

Hough publicly supported the baby news, commenting on their Instagram post, “Congratulations you two on expanding your family — this baby is already so loved.”

In August 2024, Hough opened up about her divorce on the “Armchair Expert” podcast.

“It wasn’t right. That can be a hard thing to fully accept,” she said. “I feel like our relationship and our marriage was exactly right, and the end of it is right too. We both have regrets that it didn’t work out because I don’t think we had the maturity to come together. He was contracting while I was expanding. We just couldn’t find each other in that.”

Despite the end of their marriage, Hough’s relationship with her ex appears strong—and supportive—as both move forward in new chapters of their lives.

Julianne Hough has been making waves in both her personal life and career. In December 2024, she sparked dating rumors with “Bachelorette” alum Tanner Courtad after the pair were spotted having dinner together in Studio City, California.

In a 2023 interview with People, Hough opened up about dating post-divorce. “Honestly, I am just keeping my heart open and kind of just letting the seasons flow and I’m focusing on ‘Dancing With the Stars’,” she said.

Hough is set to return to television this fall as co-host of the upcoming 34th season of “Dancing With the Stars.“
