Maxx Crosby Trade Speculation Fueled by Packers Star's Postgame Comments

As if it not enough that Josh Jacobs, in his first year with the Packers, has provided the team with a stalwart running attack it has lacked in recent years, now it seems Jacobs wants to do something else for Green Bay. He wants to help bring in players.

Maxx Crosby Trade Speculation Fueled by Packers Star's Postgame Comments

Certainly, after four seasons to open his career with the Raiders, Jacobs has met some star-caliber teammates. But there is one with whom Jacobs has been especially tight since his arrival in the league: star pass rusher Maxx Crosby.

So when Jacobs spoke with the media after Sunday's disappointing wild-card loss to the Eagles in Philadelphia, it did not take an advanced degree to figure out what he may have been hinting at.

Jacobs said his focus will be on helping the Packers take "that step" next season, while acknowledging that the "locker room's going to be different" in 2025. He added, in what is surely more than a throwaway line: "I know I'm going to try and get some guys in here. Definitely that."

Fire up the Maxx Crosby rumor mill.

It's possible, too, that Jacobs could lobby for the return of Davante Adams to Green Bay, but given Adams' history with the team, that situation is bigger than Jacobs' requests. Crosby is the guy who makes the most sense, especially with the Packers desperate for another elite pass-rusher.

Crosby is elite. And he did name-drop Jacobs during the Packers-Eagles game.

Getting Crosby to leave Las Vegas would be tricky, as he has frequently professed his desire to stay with the Raiders for his whole career. But instability in Vegas has Crosby wavering lately, as the team is set to hire the fifth head coach of Crosby's seven years in the NFL.

Speaking on his podcast, "The Rush With Maxx Crosby," this week, Crosby sounded more open to leaving the Raiders than he ever has.

"There’s gonna be a lot of decisions to be made, not only on a personal level. But I’ve gotta make the decision that is best for me. I am gonna see. Obviously, we don’t know what the coach is gonna look like, the front office, there is going to be a lot of changes,” Crosby said.

The combination of factors fueled immediate speculation.
