The 23-year-old has hoped to carry on the legacy of his grandfather in the ring, and has famously pulled off the legend's famous moves including the 'Ali Shuffle'.

Ali birthed the move in 1966 in a majestic win over Cleveland Williams, using a speed of foot to dance in front of his opponent before unleashing a quickfire barrage of punches.

Now the rising star has revealed although his grandfather never pulled out the move due to his age, the pair studied footage of the great's fights in depth.

He told talkSPORT.com: "Physically when I would hang out with him he was too old to be doing the shuffle.

"He never did the shuffle for me, but I got to watch plenty of videos with him.

"I watched plenty of videos with him doing the shuffle and pulling out some other moves.

"He taught me and told me directly that moving and dancing is what makes a fighter great.

"I have always kept that in mind during my fights and I will be sure to keep doing that."

Ali's flamboyant style captured the imagination of millions of people around the world, as he dismantled some of the division's biggest names using masterclasses in the sweet science.

He even pulled out the moves on the biggest of stages, including in his famous 'Rumble In The Jungle' encounter with George Foreman in October 1974.

The late great's legacy goes on, with Ali Walsh having pulled out the move to the delight of fans during his KO win over Jeremiah Seager.

It was a moment of supreme confidence, and he has continued to make nods to his grandfather during his career.

Next up for Ali Walsh is a huge rematch against Sona Akale, who handed him his first career defeat in August 2023.

And it is not just the shuffle he wants to use as inspiation, as he wants to recreate Ali's famous rematch win over Joe Frazier in 1974.

"Of course yes I will take it always as [inspiration]," he continued.

"If I had to compare my career to my grandfather's for this fight, his first loss was against Joe Frazier.

"He didn't think he lost, it's very similar to me I didn't think I lost. But then he had the rematch.

"He mauled Joe Frazier for the entire fight and I plan to do that in this fight."
