Raiders Lose Promising Pass Rusher to Tom Brady's Old Team

Raiders news: Gardner Minshew, K'Lavon Chaisson find new jobs - Silver And Black Pride

New general manager John Spytek has not been afraid to let good players walk in free agency in his first season with the Las Vegas Raiders. Earlier in the week, defensive starters Robert Spillane, Tre'Von Moehrig, Nate Hobbs and Divine Deablo all signed contracts with other teams, and the dominoes continue to fall for the Silver and Black.

On Thursday, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that former first-round defensive end K'Lavon Chaisson was signing a one-year deal worth $5 million with the New England Patriots. Chaisson was picked up by Las Vegas on the waiver wire early last season after Malcolm Koonce suffered a season-ending injury.

Chaisson had a career year for the Raiders in 2024 under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham and defensive line coach Rob Leonard. He played in 15 games, starting four, and recorded career highs in sacks, tackles, tackles for loss, passes defended and forced fumbles.

The LSU product had better numbers in one season with Las Vegas than he did in four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he parlayed that into a nice deal with the Patriots. Tom Brady has quite the voice in the Raiders organization as a minority owner, but it turns out Chaisson would rather play in the house that Brady built in New England.
