During a December 2024 interview on Nick Viall’s podcast, “The Viall Files,” Gunvalson suggested she believed RHOC has become inauthentic. She said that she would like to be an executive producer on the show to make sure the storylines are genuine.

“I already talked to them about it a while ago. Because I should be. I should have a say so on what is real and what is not,” said Gunvalson.

She said she approached Evolution Media and asked to be an executive producer after RHOC season 10. Gunvalson said she was unhappy with how her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, was portrayed on the show. She said, however, that she “didn’t get the job.”

“I still want to. Or I’ll create my own show,” said Gunvalson to Viall.

During the “Viall Files” episode, Gunvalson, who has not been a full-time RHOC star since 2019, said she would like to return to the series for future seasons. She said, however, that she “can’t film with some of these people” on the cast, specifically Tamra Judge.

Gunvalson also mentioned she had some reservations about filming another RHOC season alongside Judge during a November 2024 “Jeff Lewis Live” interview.

“It would be very difficult to film with her. But I always have interest. It’s something I started. I don’t want to just drop off and die,” said Gunvalson during the interview.

She also explained why she has had issues with Judge.

“I care about her a lot. I just don’t like how she treats people. And that’s my stance. I don’t want to be around people that hurt people,” said Gunvalson.

Vicki Gunvalson Said She Was Upset When She Was Fired From RHOC in 2019

During the October 21 episode of her podcast, “My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast,”  Gunvalson, who joined the show during its first season in 2006, spoke about being fired from RHOC after season 14.

“When contracts were coming back out season 15 for me, and they didn’t bring me back full-time, I was [expletive] devastated. I was like, ‘What do you mean? This is my show. I created the name, I created the whole [expletive] thing. What do you mean you’re not taking me back?’” said Gunvalson on her podcast.

Gunvalson also said that she was told producers wanted younger cast members.

“I can’t change my date of birth. So I was devastated. Everybody else was getting the call [to return] but me. I was like, ‘What’s going on?’” said Gunvalson.
