In a February 2025 OK! Magazine interview, Messer shared she is “cordial” with her ex-husbands, Corey Simms, the father of Aleeah and Ali, and Jeremy Calvert, the father of Addie. She explained that she maintains a good relationship with Calvert and Simms for her daughters’ well-being.

Leah Messer Has a Message for Her 16-Year-Old Self

During a January 2025 interview with Access Hollywood, alongside her “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” castmates Maci Bookout and Catelynn Baltierra, Messer referenced she was pregnant with her eldest children when she was 16 years old. While speaking to the publication, she shared what she would tell her 16-year-old self if she had the chance.

“Being a little bit selfish at 16 and 17 years old, and focusing on your goals and your dreams and what you’re passionate about, do that. Do that. Everything else will fall into place. But do that. Have fun,” said Messer during the interview.

Bookout also had a message for her 16-year-old self.

“I would tell myself to not be so hard on yourself. And that making yourself a priority is very much a good thing,” said Bookout to Access Hollywood.

Baltierra also said she would tell her younger self to “really get educated about the choice you are making,” seemingly in reference to placing her eldest child, Carly, up for adoption shortly after her birth in 2009.
