“Teen Mom” personality Vee Rivera is sharing why she prefers to keep her relationship with her husband of six years, Jo Rivera, private.
While speaking to inTouch in January 2025, Vee Rivera noted that she rarely posts about her husband, the father of her daughter Vivi, on social media. She said that she is “trying to figure out what exactly” to share about her personal life with fans. She said while she does want to be open with her social media followers, members of her family, presumably her husband, “don’t really, necessarily want to be on social media.”
“They don’t want people to know them or anything like that. So, yeah, there are times where I just have to look at that and look at the bigger picture and be like, you know, ‘This is me, and this is mine,’” said Vee Rivera during the interview. “Honestly, this is my page like this is my space, and that’s something that I try and let people know like [Jo] has his own Instagram. If he wants to post that he could post it. But this is like my space. This is me, like I started this platform for beauty, for hair, for like I’m like, everyone knows I’m married to [him].”
In an exclusive interview with EntertainmentNOW in December 2024, Vee Rivera spoke about establishing boundaries with her social media followers. She said she believed “it is important to have that healthy boundary with your following.”
“I put out the content that I like. I do beauty, I do life stuff. But I try not to get too much into my personal life. Where if anything could affect my kids or something, I don’t want to touch that,” said Vee Rivera during the interview.
Vee Rivera also opened up about her relationship with her husband, who shares his 15-year-old son Isaac with his ex-girlfriend “Teen Mom” star Kailyn Lowry. Vee Rivera said she has enjoyed growing together as a couple over the last 13 years together.
“We have so many different versions of each other, and I love that we get to experience that,” said Vee Rivera.
While Vee Rivera rarely posts about Jo Rivera on social media, she shared a video of him surprising her for Mother’s Day with her Instagram followers. The May 2024 Instagram video showed Jo Rivera and Vivi giving Vee Rivera her favorite treats, breakfast, and records.
“Wishing all the beautiful mamas of the world an amazing Mother’s Day. I truly hope it was as beautiful and heartfelt as mine. I’m so abundantly blessed and I count these blessings everyday 😭💖,” wrote Vee Rivera in the post’s caption.
