Barkley, on the other hand, took things further on one occasion.

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were widely regarded as the perfect Basketball duo. The two not only complemented each other's game and fed off each other's energy but also maintained a high level of professionalism.

However, Pip once revealed that he and MJ would occasionally loosen up by drinking "a beer or two" before some exhibition games.

Pippen on drinking occasionally with MJ

Over the years, numerous stories have surfaced involving Jordan and his drinking habits. For instance, in 'Michael Jordan: The Life,' there is a passage describing how the six-time Finals MVP would drink a few beers and start insulting Jerry Krause on the team bus. In 'Blood on the Horns,' Roland Lazenby mentioned how Mike and several other Bulls teammates would pound down five to six beers and often fire up a cigar in the first half hour of the game.

While the veracity of these accounts has never been confirmed, Pip, during his appearance on The Dan LeBatard Show, admitted that he and Mike occasionally enjoyed a beer together in the Bulls locker room.

"I've had a few drinks during the exhibition season," the legendary forward said. "You know, me and Michael, we tested the waters a few times when we had some exhibition games. We knew we weren't playing too many minutes, so we may have a beer or two in the locker room before we go out."

Barkley took things even further

According to Pippen, he and Jordan drank before games only when they knew the stakes were low and their playing time would be limited. On the other hand, players like Charles Barkley took his drinking habits to a different level.

Once, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Barkley admitted to celebrating his trade from the Philadelphia 76ers with an excessive amount of alcohol. However, the deal fell through, and the 1993 MVP was compelled to suit up for the 76ers in the game despite being intoxicated. Unfortunately, Barkley had no recollection of the game.

"I don't remember anything about that game," Charles said. "First of all, I was so pissed, but I was so drunk, too. I have no idea what happened that game."

While most NBA players are professional, they also choose alcohol to unwind, especially after stressful situations. That said, as long as this doesn't impact their on-court performances, that's fine. And that certainly wasn't the case when it comes to the legendary Chicago Bulls duo.
