In the world of reality TV drama, David Eason's latest brush with the law is just another headline in an ongoing saga.
The 36-year-old Teen Mom 2 alum found himself on the wrong side of the law again, this time for allegedly violating a domestic violence restraining order and trespassing on public land in North Carolina.
Eason, the estranged husband of former Teen Mom Jenelle Evans, was arrested on Friday, November 8. His latest mug shot, now circulating on X (formerly Twitter), features him in a plain black T-shirt with a grim expression on his face.
Despite the new charges hanging over him, Eason wasn't in cuffs for long. According to Us Weekly, he was released on Sunday, November 10 after posting a $1,000 bond. The incident traces back to an earlier situation in October when Eason ventured onto Evans' property to retrieve a few belongings. Although a sheriff's deputy was on the scene to oversee the visit, Eason allegedly tried to haul away his ex-wife's dirt bikes and ATVs.
Evans wasn't home at the time. The retired MTV icon and her family — including son Jace, 15, whose father is ex Andrew Lewis, son Kaiser, 10, whom she shares with ex Nathan Griffith, and daughter Ensley, 7, whom she shares with Eason — are living in Las Vegas after moving from North Carolina following her February separation from Eason.
"Me and [boyfriend] August [Keen] flew to North Carolina recently to deal with David and his minions breaking into my home and trying to steal my motorcycles," Evans explained to TMZ in an interview published Wednesday, November 13. "NC law required for me to press charges and file the police report in person, I had to see the magistrate in order for the charges to be filed. To my knowledge David was arrested because of this incident, after I pressed charges via the magistrate."
Eason's relationship with Evans has been marred by various allegations and legal battles, including charges of misdemeanor child abuse stemming from an incident last year between him and Jace, which he's denied in posts on social media. The case is still pending.
Eason has also had numerous run-ins with the law over the years. In 2012 alone, he faced multiple charges, including misdemeanor breaking and entering, larceny, willful and wanton injury to property, obtaining property by false pretenses, possession of drug paraphernalia, and multiple counts of driving while impaired and reckless driving. His legal troubles continued over the years, culminating in a 2020 arrest for assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats during an altercation where he allegedly struck a friend of Evans' with a gun. He was released on bond and the charges were eventually dropped.
Earlier this year, Evans — who has had her own fair share of legal troubles over the years — filed for a legal separation from Eason, citing his "erratic behavior" and "substance abuse" issues. This tumultuous period in their lives included allegations of Eason exhibiting disturbing behavior towards Evans throughout their marriage, recklessly spending money, and engaging in actions deemed as marital misconduct.
The drama escalated when Evans claimed that Eason had run over a puppy on their property and had not maintained consistent employment, contributing to their strained financial and personal situation. Their rocky relationship had seen temporary separations before, notably in 2019 after Eason shot and killed Evans' dog, an incident that led to her temporarily leaving him. They reconciled in 2020, but the relationship continued to deteriorate, leading to their final split in February.
