Teen Mom: Farrah Abraham Defends Whitney Purvis After Her Involuntary M@nsl@ughter Arrest

Teen Mom

Teen Mom alum Farrah Abraham has a way with words and often appears on interviews and podcasts to bash her former co-stars and MTV producers. However, this time was different. For the first time ever, we saw Farrah defending someone from the past. The diva revealed that Whitney Purvis is not at fault. Authorities previously arrested her for involuntary manslaughter. She shared how unfair the judicial system has been to her.

For those who might not know, Whitney was part of MTV’s 2009 documentary series 16 and Pregnant. Authorities recently arrested the diva on a felony warrant for involuntary manslaughter. They took her into custody and charged her with two drug-related counts. Authorities accused her of using a communication device to commit a felony involving a controlled substance and manufacturing. Additionally, they charged her with delivering, distributing, and selling illegal substances.

Teen Mom: Whitney Purvis’ Criminal Charges!

On February 16, 2025, authorities arrested 16 and Pregnant alum Whitney Purvis in Floyd County, Georgia, for involuntary manslaughter. Authorities allege that Purvis illegally distributed drugs to a man named John Mark Harris, who later died from a toxic overdose. The affidavit states she intentionally gave Harris a substance referred to as “Tranq,” commonly known to contain Xylazine and Fentanyl, which directly contributed to his death.

Jae W. Chung, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the DEA’s Atlanta Field Division, confirmed the arrest and noted the ongoing investigation. “Nearly 70% of all drug-related deaths involve synthetic opioids like fentanyl,” Chung said in a statement, warning that even two milligrams of fentanyl can be deadly. Authorities claim Purvis supplied Harris with the narcotics that led to his fatal overdose. She remains in custody, and the case continues to develop, with more details expected soon.

Farrah Abraham recently spoke about 16 and Pregnant star Whitney. Just a day after her arrest for involuntary manslaughter, authorities placed her on suicide watch. The diva was arrested on July 7. Farrah further claimed that she had also faced wrongful imprisonment multiple times, despite never being guilty.

She has dealt with law enforcement over the years and noted that the easiest person to blame is usually a public figure, especially if it’s a woman. Farrah stood up for Whitney and stated in an interview with OK! that she is not a drug dealer. She further added that the real drug dealers in this country should be off the streets. They are not grieving mothers who get wrapped up in other people’s issues.

Farrah further continued that she looks forward to Whitney attending a 12-step intensive healing program, something Farrah herself enjoyed. She believes it helps heal past trauma, like grief. Whitney recently lost her son, and Farrah hopes this program helps. She also added that mothers can’t go around blaming other women for their own sons’ issues. People should take accountability for their actions and stop passing the blame.

Since Whitney cannot stand up for herself due to the ongoing investigation, Farrah said people should stop pointing fingers, as she still needs a criminal defense attorney. As of now, we don’t have a clear picture of the entire incident. Hopefully, if Whitney is not at fault, she will be released from prison. Stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers for further updates.
